Biography

La Masia to world champion

Born 13 July 2007 · Esplugues de Llobregat, Spain

A product of Barcelona's La Masia academy, Yamal joined the first team in 2023–24. At seventeen he became the youngest player ever nominated for the Ballon d'Or, and he has since won the Kopa Trophy in both 2024 and 2025.

Under Hansi Flick he helped Barcelona to a domestic treble in 2024–25. With Spain he won Euro 2024 as the tournament's Young Player, and then the 2026 World Cup — all before turning twenty.
