Manchester City vs Coventry City: Premier League Match Preview

Manchester City welcome Coventry City to the Etihad Stadium today, Saturday, September 5, 2026, in a Premier League Matchweek 3 encounter. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM BST (7:30 PM IST). City will be looking to preserve their perfect start to the campaign, while newly promoted Coventry are searching for their first points and goals in the Premier League.

Their best opportunities are likely to come through counterattacks and set pieces, while striker Taiwo Awoniyi could provide an important outlet. City, meanwhile, will expect to control possession and test Coventry's defence repeatedly.

This is also the first competitive meeting between the clubs in more than 24 years. Their last encounter came in March 2002, when Manchester City defeated Coventry 4–2 at Maine Road.
